New Site Soon!
My apologies for my long abscence. My beautiful baby boy #3 turned one in March and it has been a crazy, fun year! I am working on a new expanded site, incorporating my photography into my other site and adding many new fun features including cookbook, product and restaurant reviews as well as making it easier to view and purchase my vegetarian and vegan photography! I have been doing a lot of recipe testing for several talented vegan cookbook authors and that has inspired me to push further with my own recipe development. It has also sharpened my cooking skills and forced me to work more efficiently. Having a toddler emptying my cabinets as I cook hasn't hurt either! It seems the busier I am the more organized I become.

Thanks so much to those of you who have continued to check this site despite the fact that it has rarely been updated in recent months. I absolutely love hearing your comments as well.

Take Care,
Lori

Homemade potato chips!
This recipe appeared in an old issue of Garden Plate magazine and unfortunately went uncredited.  My apologies to the recipe creator, I would love to know who it is!  I styled and photographed the final product, which was prepared by Jennifer Wickes.  Enjoy - they were delicous!

4 medium potatoes (or sweet potatoes)
Peanut of vegetable oil for deep frying
2 tablespoons fine sea salt mixed with
2 teaspoons Chinese five spice and
1/2 teaspoon raw sugar

Slice potatoes into thin rounds and keep in ice-cold water until ready to use.

Heat at least 1" of oil in a heavy frying pan to 375 degrees.

Blot potatoes, then cook in small batches until golden brown. Remove from the oil to a plate lined with paper towel and sprinkle with spices.

Recipe Developing

I've been working on expanding my recipe developing!  I had these beautiful little 8 ball zucchini as inspiration.  To view the recipe please go to my Vegan Food Blog http://abugandafish.blogspot.com/ where I am participating in VeganMofo III.
